Green Policy

Requirement

Based on the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC on Restriction of use of certain Hazardous Substances and WEEE Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment of the European parliament with effect from 1st of July 2006, and as per the GREEN POLICY which aims to protect human health and environment, DATAFIELD India expects all its suppliers to ensure that the products/materials/components supplied by them shall NOT contain the following hazardous substances more than the specified maximum permissible values*

1. Lead (Pb) : 100 ppm
2. Mercury (Hg): 2ppm
3. Cadmium (Cd):5ppm
4. Hexavalent Chromium(Cr 6+):10ppm
5. Poly Brominated Biphenyls (PBB): 10ppm
6. Poly Brominated Diphenyl Ethers(PBDE): 10ppm

All homogenous components within the products/materials/components need to conform to the above requirement. A homogenous material means a material that can be separated by mechanical actions such as unscrewing, cutting, crushing, abrasive process etc.
These Restrictions are applicable to all products purchased with a request to comply with RoHS/GREEN POLICY.

Penalities

Consequences of NON-COMPLIANCE to this requirement could result in the following;

1. Unlimited fine by the European Government
2. Cost of Quality based penalties
3. Litigation
4. Shipment Hold-up
5. Product re-call
6. Risk of being removed from the Approved Suppliers List.
